Samsung Galaxy X launch live stream and commentary from T3
Not on the guestlist for the Samsung developer conference in San Francisco? Not a problem, we've got you covered
Samsung's annual developer conference kickstarts in San Francisco today. The two-day event is a chance for the technology company to showcase upcoming operating system and hardware changes to third-party developers to ensure they have enough time to tweak their products accordingly.
However, there is an unprecedented amount of the interest in the conference this year following a series of rumours saying that Samsung plans to use the event to unveil its long-rumoured Galaxy Xfolding smartphone. It's unclear whether the Galaxy X reveal will include hardware, or simply the software that will power the foldable tablet-smartphone hybrid (it is a developer conference, after all).
If you want to watch, Samsung has provided a number of ways to tune in and watch the annual developer conference live – even if you weren't fortunate enough to bag one of the seats in the Moscone West Convention Centre, in San Francisco.
The event starts at 6pm GMT (10am PT, 1pm ET). You can watch the action live below, and read our amusing and insightful commentary as events unfold.
If you're not a fan of YouTube live streams, Samsung is also broadcasting a live video feed of its opening keynote on Facebookand Vimeo.
Aside from the long-awaited Galaxy X folding smartphone, Samsung is also widely-tipped to offer more details about its Galaxy Home AI-powered smart speaker.
The Apple HomePod rival was first unveiled during the Galaxy Note 9 launch event in August, but since then Samsung has kept schtum about its home audio offering. With any luck, Samsung will announce a Galaxy Home release date before Christmas, as well as some new integrations with smart home appliances.
Elsewhere, we expect the technology firm to showcase some new features for the Bixby AI assistant, as well as its Tizen smartwatch operating system. The latter powers the Galaxy Watch, which was also unveiled during the August launch event, and currently lacks the support from third-party apps already available on rival smartwatches powered by Google's Wear OS.
T3 will have all the latest details on the Galaxy X, Galaxy Home, TizenOS, and more, as they're announced on-stage. So stay tuned.
